The Sophomore Internship Program (SIP) was developed for sophomore IU Indianapolis students interested in a paid, off-campus internship. Current participants represent 20 majors across 10 schools and academic units on the IU Indianapolis campus. SIP is a campuswide collaboration that encourages students to connect with professionals in the Indianapolis area. To date, over 100 IU Indianapolis students have been successfully placed in internships from our program.
The Sophomore Internship Program at IU Indianapolis is generously supported by Citizens Energy Group and New Skills Ready Network.
The Sophomore Internship Program began in 2017 with a charitable donation from Duke Energy Group to the IU Foundation for internships at IU Indianapolis. Under the directorship of Campus Career and Advising Services, the first full group of 10 interns started in the 2017–18 academic year. Beginning in 2019, Citizens Energy Group partnered with SIP to offer more internship opportunities for IU Indianapolis students.
